Savade Pond Forest an expansive forest with frontage on two inland ponds. The property is about 20 miles east of Augusta and about 30 miles from the seacoast at Rockport and Camden. Several miles of interior gravel roads provide access to nearly all sections of the forest. The parcels large size and the lack of roads outside the boundaries provides tremendous privacy. The property fronts the entire western shore of Fox Pond and has about 800 ft of frontage on the northern end of Savade Pond. The Fox Pond outlet feeds into Savade Pond to the south. Both ponds can be accessed via the internal roads to within a short distance of the shorelines; the balance is covered by a grassy trail. The rest of the property consists of brooks, wetlands and low-profile ridges. The forest resource is nearly an equal mix of softwoods (white pine, eastern hemlock, red spruce, red oak) and northern hardwoods (beech, birch and maple).
